Messianic -Who Me?
Could You Be Called to Messianic Worship?
I became very interested in really reading my Bible after I had an amazing experience on August 13, 2011. By really "getting into The Book" I soon realized that many of the things I had grown up doing as a Christian were not in accordance with what I was reading in the Bible - for example observing the Sabbath on Sunday!
Plus, it seemed that I might be missing out on a lot of possible blessings if I continued going blissfully down this road of misinformation.
When I was living for a brief time in Ottawa, I sought out a Messianic congregation to show a friend that there are many Jews who have come to know Yeshua as their Saviour.
Then one Shabbat as I was watching the service, the Rabbi shared how he had grown up in the Catholic faith. I had no idea that if you were not born a Jew you could be a Messianic Rabbi or even a member of a Messianic Torah observant congregation - then I did some research and it turns out that many Messianic Torah observant people were not born Jews, but come from many different faith backgrounds.
This made my heart leap with joy. If you had peeked in my tiny kitchen window you would have seen a funny sight indeed as I danced joyfully around singing,
"I can be a Jew!You can be a Jew!We can all be Messianic Jews!C'mon ev'ry body sing-We can all be Messianic Jews!"
So, yes, I could be a Messianic Jew!
Note: With a bit more research, I discovered that people born into the Jewish faith are not happy about Messianic Torah observant believers identifying themselves as Jews.
How about you? Do you feel called to follow Yeshua and observe the Holy Days of Our Creator too? Pop a note in the comments below and say hi!
Looking forward to hearing from you-
